On February 10, 2022, marking and coding solutions provider Automated Marking Inc. (AMI) announced that it will become an exclusive North American distributor for WCS Coding. This agreement was made just months after AMI began selling the Zenjet thermal inkjet printers.
AMI made a similar announcement in January regarding its newly launched thermal inkjet (TIJ) printer line, the CAMI JET. CAMI stands for Coding Automation Marking Intelligence. The CAMI JET line consists of three private-labeled models of Zenjet printers, named Athena, Atlas, and the IP65-rated Poseidon.
The CAMI JET Athena and Atlas thermal inkjet systems are entry-level models for facilities that are looking for light-duty solutions. They are similar to the Zenjet Dynamic model, as they are both single-head and compact. While both units are capable of printing the standard 12.7mm or 0.5” print height, their main difference lies in the number of lines and types of messages the systems are capable of printing. Athena can print up to two lines of code, while the Atlas model, which is made out of anodized aluminum, can print multiple lines, barcodes, and images.
The CAMI JET Poseidon is the IP65 rated Zenjet Ultra model, which provides complete ingress protection against water, moisture, and dust. It is capable of printing barcodes and images of up to a 0.5” (12.7mm) print height. Its rugged construction consists of stainless steel.
AMI will be the exclusive distributor in North America for the full Zenjet product portfolio, including the Dynamic, the IP65-rated Zenjet Ultra thermal inkjet printers, and proprietary ink cartridges that are chipped. Both inline TIJ printers use HP cartridges and deliver high-quality, reliable codes with a low cost per print and a best-in-class 10-year warranty.
